It is the perfect place to enjoy the architecture of the area or to visit some of Amsterdam’s museums which are reachable with a short walk from the hotel, such as the Science centre Nemo, designed by Renzo Piano, and the Stedelijk Museum of modern art, immersed in the spectacular landscape of the surrounding piers and ships.
The theatre street Nes, the famous Dam square with the Royal Palace and the shopping district are also at walking distance.
The hotel is right in the middle of the bustling life of one of Amsterdam’s most ancient and characteristic areas, on the corner with Zeedijk, a popular street full of restaurants and cafes, leading to the picturesque square Nieuwmarkt and the Red Light District.
Being in this part of the city gives the feeling of being at the centre of everything.
Hotel Prins Hendrik had between its guests also the famous jazz musician Chet Baker.

The hotel is located on Prins Hendrikkade, in front of Station Amsterdam Centraal.
By plane:
You can take a train from Schiphol airport to Central Station, it takes about 19 minutes
By car:
Coming from the Ring A-10 around Amsterdam take exit S116 (direction Amsterdam Centrum). Go straight forward for about 2 km. Go straight into the IJ-tunnel. Immediately after the IJ-tunnel take the first exit to the right (Prins Hendrikkade).
Go straight forward for about 1 km. If you enter the Station Square you'll see the Central Station at your right hand side. Hotel Prins Hendrik is located opposite the Central Station (at your left hand side).
