3.6Very well situated for the main art museums (200m), and the Leidseplein nightlife and shopping (a direct No 2 or No 5 tram will take you to/from the more distant station/red light area or it's a 30-40 minute walk). The hotel is situated in a quiet street lined with designer boutiques. Unfortunately there is still work going on in the street, though not in the hotel itself, but I didn't find it too intrusive personally. The staff are welcoming and helpful. Breakfast buffet is OK but not outstanding for 3 stars. My ensuite room was a bit small, with insufficient storage space: expected a bit more for 60 Euros a night, but I suppose Amsterdam is as pricey as any major European capital. Overall, a good hotel, wic is not perfect but can be recommended, especially for the staff welcome and attentions, convenient location, and relative quietness.
