  • When we booked in we were upgraded free of charge )and without asking ) to a superior room, a porter took our bags and escorted us to our room which was huge and gorgeous, We had 2 4ft beds side by side, there was a bath robe and slippers for the lady. The bathroom was lovely really big with 2 was basins, shower and a bath. Ther was a hairdryer, but this was in the bathroom so you had to stand I think they could put a stool in there, as usual with foreign hotels there was no plug by a mirror in the lounge so couldnt use own hairdryer, I gave up and stood. After we unpacked we went down stairs and the manager asked us if we liked our room, we thought this was a real personel touch. All the staff were really friendly as were all the dutch. It was freezing cold in Amsterdam so the warm hotel was very welcoming, heating is on in the rooms 24hrs, you can turn it to whatever temperature you want.. Read review

  • Good choice of fast food and decent restaurants in the area. We arrived early but were allowed to check in the room. The hotel upgraded us, at no extra charge, to a lovely superior room on the top floor with a balcony and a nice view of the city. Not spacious but the room was clean, modern and I believe recently renovated in 2003. Fantastic location, excellent hospitality!. Read review

  • The staff were warm, very friendly and attentive and the location was superb. We arrived early in the morning and although our room wasn't ready for us we were able to leave our case and go off on our travels. The receptionist pointed us in the right direction and advised us to go to the tourist information to buy tickets for the attractions - this way we didn't have to queue (we could walk straight in) and also we were given small discounts - a double bonus. Overall, thanks to the staff at the Jolly Carlton, we had a very enjoyable break - we will definately return and recommend it to all of our friends.. Read review
