5First things first. This hotel is not a five-star, or even a four-star, so you have to accept that you're going to get what you pay for. That being said, my friend and I were visiting Amsterdam last minute and on a budget, so we were pleasantly surprised by the comfort of the rooms and the friendliness of the staff. Mike, who was working the bar and front desk during our visit, gave us a great map with all the high points (no pun intended) of the area as well as tips for getting around on the local transportation. The bus stop is a short walk from the hotel and for 2.40 euro, you can travel the 10 minutes it takes to get to the Central Station and then some (it buys you an hour). The beds were cozy and the rooms were clean. If you're driving, parking is free and is right across from the police station, so relatively safe as well. Wifi is also free if you travel with your laptop, but if not, they have a public computer in the lobby. All in all, it was probably one of the best hotels you can get for under 100 euros a night.
