We only booked this hotel because it said on the website that it had been re-modernised, we stayed here 2 years ago and the room was terrible so this time we were hoping for better. We booked a superior room which was advertised as all brand new with plasma tv open plan bathroom new beds etc but when we checked in the receptionist said she had upgraded us to an executive room which was good until we got to the room to find it was an old style room that had not been modernised, i rang recpetion to ask for our original room and was told that they had already filled it, what between us checking in and going up 3 floors to the room they had let it out i dont think so. The hotel was still undergoing major works when we stayed we had not been informed of this and to get to our room we had to walk up a dust filled corridor with workmen everywhere. The room was dirty, the maid service was terrible one day we didnt leave the room till 11am an eventhough the maids were still doing our floor they did not attempt to clean our room, on the days they did clean all they did was make the bed and supply new towels, they never topped the coffee/tea up we had to ring reception for some more and it never turned up along with the non slip bath mat we rung them for twice which never turned up. They have no ice machines and charged 3 euros 50 for ice to be brought to the room i wouldnt of bothered if they had told me the charge before i rang up to find out where the ice machine was. And to top it all off upon checking out even though we had paid in full on arrival for the room they decided to put the price of the room up and wanted an extra 100 euros a night plus charges for pay tv which we had not had, it took nearly an hour to check out and get sorted i had paperwork to prove all the costs but they would not accept it at first. The location of the hotel is good but thats about it the service and staff attitude is extremely poor abd the quality of the hotel itself should be downgraded to 3 star. Would we stay here again.....NO DEFINATELY NOT.
