Hotel Estherea details:  Hotel Estheréa is set along the Singel canal in the centre of Amsterdam, only 300 metres from Dam Square. This hotel is in a quiet area and benefits from classically-styled decor with wooden paneling.

Each of the stylish rooms are romantically decorated and have a private bathroom and Wi-Fi (charges applicable). Some rooms have a canal view.

Breakfast at the hotel features an extensive range of choices including bread, toppings, juices and fresh fruit. There are also warm dishes including scrambled eggs, boiled or fried eggs, sausages and bacon.

The hotel serves coffee, tea or hot chocolate free of charge in the lounge with canal view. Furthermore, you can make free use of the wired internet in the lobby, visit the small library and get colouring books for children.

Hotel Estheréa is situated in the heart of the city centre within walking distance of museums, the main shopping area and night life. You will find plenty of cafés and restaurants in the area.

Hotel Estheréa was founded during the second world war by Maria Flieger-Gruyters, mother of three daughters. She lost her husband Joseph in the war and moved to Amsterdam to earn a living. She rented a house along the canal in which she started a small inn with 12 rooms. During the years after the war she also bought neighbouring houses and expanded her inn.

Today, the Estheréa has 71 rooms spread over 6 houses (4 houses along the canal and 2 houses in the Spuistraat, all connected with each other). Unfortunately, Maria Flieger-Gruyters passed away in 1992 and one of her three daughters, Elly Esselaar-Flieger took over together with her husband Rob and her three children Jan-Willem, Caroline and Esther. Today the third generation is setting forth what Maria started more than 60 years ago.

The historical buildings are dating back to the 17th century. The comfortable rooms are renovated approximately every 5 years. In addition to the listed facilities, they are all equipped with a private bathroom and wireless internet. Our elevator reaches all rooms.

In our elegant lounge with canal view we serve complimentary coffee and tea.
We sell foreign newspapers and there is a small library with books in different languages that you can borrow during your stay. We have colouring books and pencils for our small guests as well as baby beds and a high chair in the breakfast room (all free of charge).
