"Die Port Van Cleve Hotel was absolutely IDEAL"

Die Port Van Cleve Hotel was absolutely IDEAL. Central Station, Dam Square, many tram stops, a shopping mall and grocery store were all a few minutes walk away. The hotel and rooms were very clean. The bathroom was nice but the bedroom was VERY VERY tiny. This is quite normal for Europe but still, a little hard to deal with. The bed was not very comfortable, the mattress was quite old and worn, it seems. Still, I think it was a good value for the location and cleanliness.

They were very friendly and it was a nice location. It is very close to the redlight district so you can be there in a 5 minute walk.

Hotel was GREAT

This hotel was fantastic! My wife and i arrived prior to check-in time and this was no ptoblem for the hotel. They gave us a fantastic room on the west side of the hotel. it was very nice and large even by US standards. Room was approximately 20' x 30'. Bathroom was clean and large as well. Twin beds side by side was so so but the room more than made up for the bed. The hotel front desk staff and bell captain were fantastic! They offered assistance on getting to the correct public transportation stops and even made reservations for us to the Van Gogh museum so we would not have to wait in line. Requests for extra towels was not a problem. The wireless service was a bit slow but free so that was an even trade off. You could not ask for a better location for the hotel. You are right in city center with easy access to all the great sites! We were there for a week would stay at this hotel again.
