We stayed over on the last weekend in June, down celebrating my brother's Silver Wedding in Dumfries. The Hotel was centrally located, a 5 minute walk into the Town Centre and is a lovely building .... which has been tastefully modernised by the hosts, Terry and Lynne. Our room and ensuite were a good size, with a Big comfy bed. Everything was spotlessly clean. The thing which impressed us most was the 'Can do' attitude of our hosts, always helpful and full of local information. Rather than have us walk or take our car into the town for our function, Terry insisted on taking us in his own car. Little gestures like that make all the difference and help you to relax into the place. It was much appreciated. Other things to mention.... a refurbished and comfortable Lounge Bar which sells a good pint of Belhaven and has a decent range of wines and spirits, a plentiful choice of fresh breakfast options and plenty of parking spaces out front in the hotel grounds. We made our choice based on Trip Advisor reviews, and we were not disappointed. I would recommend Huntingdon House to anyone visiting the area.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Dumfries. Terry and Lynne were both so friendly and made us feel very welcome indeed. I stayed here with a newly fractured foot and my mobility was severely limited. Terry and Lynne went out of their way to help me in every way they could. They were just fantastic. I cannot thank them enough. My boyfriend and I are definitely planning to stay at this hotel again, when I'm fully recovered!
