Stuart House Hotel (Ltd) - Kings Lynn, United Kingdom     

The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly. The shower was not up to much - wouldn't have wanted to wash my hair! However we were very disappointed with the quality of the food in the restaurant. Everything on the starter menu sounded as though it came from the freezer and was deep fried. I had the pate which tasted like cheap supermarket pate and I waited more than an hour for it! The chicken was tough and smothered in a cream sauce which wasnt mentioned on the menu. Veggies were nice although we had to ask for some more as we were only given one small portion. Very expensive! We felt let down by the description in the brochure. My husband did enjoy the beer!

Stayed at this hotel when the current management had just taken over and found it to be excellent value for money, with clean rooms , friendly staff etc etc. Stayed again weekend of 22/23rd September this year and what a disappontment. Stayed in Room 11 which was VERY tiny with a smaller than normal double bed,shabby paintwork and poor soundproofing. The bathroom had no bracket for the shower, no shower curtain and the water went from boiling hot to cold if anyone used a shower in another room(a serious safety hazard). Discovered next morning that another couple had asked to be moved from this room as it was so small. As I had booked this room in January 2007 I would have expected a better room especially since we paid £89 for b&b. When I commented on my concerns I was told that this was a standard double room. It was the smallest I have ever been in. I will not be back!
