Stayed here for 2 nights on business. Upgraded room was superb, with excellent views. Nice bar, friendly staff.....not sure I'd want a room in the corridor between reception and bar though. Food at breakfast and dinner in the restaurant was above average, but the service was a little slow. I have a company laptop, which has a freefone (0800) dialup internet connection. What let this place down was their attemt to charge me a ridiculous rate, several pence per minute for dialing a freefone number which, as I'd left the laptop connected, ran to tens of pounds. I say attempt, because I refused to pay it, even though my company would have picked it up, on the grounds that it WAS a free call, but more importantly there was no indication on the phone that I would be charged in this way. I seldom read guest literature, so if you want me to pay for using something, you need to make damn sure that I know about it at the point of usage, not tell me the following day I should have read this or that. So...overall an extremely nice Hotel, which I would use again, but which let itself down a little.

Good value for money, rooms are a little "tired" and in need of decoration/modernisation. Staff friendly and helpful. Restaurant and bar area very pleasant, in fact one of the best hotel restaurants I have eaten in for a long time. Room was on a noisy corridor between reception and the bar, so try to avoid that area. Great for a one night stay.
