Golden Lion Hotel - Rugby, United Kingdom 

We only stayed here for one night but it was excellent, having stayed in some expensive hotels, I wasnt sure about booking a pub but it was so much more. We booked a 4 poster room which was lovely, levels of cleanliness were excellent, lovely toiletries and fluffy towls in the bathroom. The staff were some of the most friendly I have dealt with in a hotel, the food was excellent, they had run out of steak on the evening we were there, but immediately offered us our wine complimentary (which was ?23 bottle) and the breakfast,full english was all cooked to order unlike some of the dried up offerings we have had in the past from buffet breakfasts. I would not hesitate in staying here again, it certainly exceeded my expectations.

This place is the place to stay around Rugby. It's in a small village (it is difficult to find), but beautiful. The pub (restaurant and breakfast) is olde world, with good beer and food, the (most) rooms are in a modern extension at rear. The singles are VERY small, but clean and modern. All the biz tools you want (wifi, etc) Will be back.
