I booked this hotel after reading good reviews about it at a couple of sites. My wife and I stayed here in mid June for 4 nights and in short we both felt that this was just an average hotel. Our first experience upon arriving at the hotel was a not too friendly staff at reception, and that was basically our experience for the entire time that we were there. We thought that this may just be a French cultural thing (as they don't have the best reputation for friendliness), but other locals we asked for help or spoke with were quite nice. The hotel itself is situated in a fairly good location, with Metro access a couple of minutes away and supermarket and laundry services just around the corner. However, it would have been great if the room we were staying in had a fridge so we could take advantage of said supermarket. The hotel has a nice look to it when you first walk in, and also has a lift with a nice spiral staircase as well. The room itself was just an average double room in terms of size and quality, with a decent sized bathroom. There were a few negatives which detracted from the room, those being no fridge, no air conditioning (only a desk fan) and the front desk wanting to extort 8 euros per night for the key to the room lock box (which should be included in the price). In summary, the hotel and room were OK for our trip as we were only in the room to sleep, but the majority of the staff really put us off. If we return to Paris I think we'll look to other hotels to stay.

It was nice to be able to walk from the train station down the hill to this hotel and there is quite a bit of shopping options on the way back and forth. The hotel staff was pretty friendly and spoke English well. The hotel room in photos for this hotel look like what we had. No complaints and our room was quiet so I liked that a lot. The lobby area looks more impressive in the photos since I didn't think it was as grand looking but it does have a nice little seating area right next to the lobby. They also have a vending machine across from the elevator with juice, water, soda and beer, and I thought the vending machine was a great way to use up some of our euro change. This hotel is pretty close to Sacr?-C?ur Basilica so we walked up to it later one afternoon for a wonderful view of Paris. The church itself is quite impressive and we enjoyed the many tourist shops on our walk up there too. Note that if you decide to walk to Sacr?-C?ur at night make sure you have a pretty good map of that area of Paris. We tend to be good direction-wise but in the dark we managed to walk past our street twice since there are quite a lot of crooked streets. We also walked to Op?ra national de Paris from the hotel. For breakfast we went to the nearby McDonalds that we had noticed walking from the train station to the hotel. Since McDonalds was my first job, I always enjoy seeing what their menu looks like in other countries. They had a nice breakfast with a version of the egg mcmuffin (with bacon instead of ham), petite croissants (a variety of three), juice, and coffee that they gave you a token to buy out of an interesting machine.
