Playa Conchas Chinas - Puerto Vallarta, Mexico 

I agree entirely with Byroenius' review. All I would add is that we stayed in a "deluxe room" with a jacuzzi which was great! It was big enough for me to be able to stretch out in completely (something I haven't been able to do in a bath since I was 12 years old!). The water jets were nice and powerful and it was on the balcony - so I could jacuzzi while enjoying the view of the sea. The jacuzzi is also great if you head out and about while its hot outside - so come home hot and sweaty - as you can just fill it with cool water and relax. Unlike a lot of large hotels, this hotel is about 5 steps from the sea - so rather than your balcony looking over a load of people wallowing around in a pool and bar - you just see palm trees and sunsets over the sea. The hotel restaurant has surprisingly good (though perhaps a bit expensive) food, although my wife did have to spend quite a while on the loo the next day as a result (and she's Mexican, so she's used to less-than-hygienic food) but I was fine (being English I'm less used to dodgy food). I did try some of her dish (a delicious molcajete) so who knows what caused it? Overall this is a really good little hotel and I would definitely stay there again.

We booked this hotel from july 4th - 9th 2008 and it is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in Puerto Vallarta. ( I have stayed within the hotel zone for the past four years) It is rustic, charming, and quaint hotel in one of the best beaches in Puerto Vallarta. The vicinity of the hotel makes it convenient to go to town or nearby Mismaloya. Only 6 pesos for the bus, or 60 pesos for a taxi to town. We took the bus every where and it was pretty convenient since the bus stops right in front of the hotel. The hotel room was equipped with a Kitchenette which was really good, saving us from having to eat out everyday. Only wish they had a microwave, but everytrhing else was perfect. It was really quiet, and the staff were super helpful. They can help you book a tour or make reservations to a restaurant, or even call a taxi for you (in a very unique way) Another thing you won't find in this beautiful hotel are the pesky time share people that you always encounter at the hotels within the hotel zone and at the airport. (Granted that they just wanna make a living, but sometimes, they can be overbearing) I recommend this hotel to anyone who can appreciate simple things. This hotel is a home away from home kinda feel.
