Watch out for the elevator doors, it doesn't have sensors. Pay the extra money and go clubbing with the hotel staff, they have reserved seats at the clubs and you don't have to wait in line!. Read review

We ate at the Old Barn, Pier 12, and the buffet and had good food and good choices from the menu, with the Old Barn being our favorite. They had some opening night gliches, but it will be another good option for eating. We really liked the fact that reservations were not required, because we don't like to be on a schedule when on vacation. At other resorts, we almost always skipped restaurants that required reservations, and therefore probably missed out on some good meals. We had a room on the lagoon side and when the sun went behind the buildings and shaded the pool and beach, we would go to the room and sit on the patio and got another hour or so of sun while enjoying the sunset. My friend and I arrived at the Golden Crown and we were surprised at the hospitality by the bell boys and reception staff, very friendly and very welcoming. The food was outstanding with 3 restaurants and a snack bar to chose from. The pool was spacious, there were no fights for sun loungers and the waitresses lily, martha and cristina were always there to bring drinks to you. The activities at the pool were good, no too loud and they never pushed you to do anything. They took you to a different bar every night, its worth going with them as you get the special service (table and waiter etc). I would deffinitly recommend this resort to everyone one as all of the staff are wonderful and will accomodate for anyone.. Read review

We arrived at 2 in the afternoon, our room wasn't ready till after 6 that evening. The buffet was ok, most of the restaurants were discusting, and the waiters were rude. The activities department were exceptional.

I'm not to sure how i can explain how wonderful of a time my family had so i guess i will do a brake down. We went for 2 weeks. we are a med 20s couple with 2 boys aged 4 and 8 but we said our son was 5 so he could do some of the activities he was not aloud to do till 5 like the zip line. Rooms- we got a normal crown room in the first tower.we had a small problem with the water coming out yellow and some times not coming out at all,the maintenance men came out asap and fixed it. The room was always clean and had a fabulous view. Food-we loved all the food way better then everyone writes about.we did find it annoying to get reservations for the restaurants but we did for all but 3 nights. The french was very fancy and it was great that it was adult only so my husband and i were forced to have a little time alone.The Fisherman was our favorite.the food was yummy,fast and we had the best service from them all 3 times we went.we liked that they brought out the kids food with in 5 minutes of ordering. Waynes boots food was nothing to write home about,but it was fun to watch people fall off the bull. The Buffet had lots of different fresh foods, there was always something for everyone to eat. My husband and his friend loved the self serve Corona beer.I ate at the sushi bar 3 times and i would say it is the same that you would pay $10 plus for back home. the outside snack bar has the best wings served from 11-4 or so. Kids club- we used the kids club almost every day

2 couples stayed in april & had the vacation of our lives, great resort , great food ,location, activities,sevice,cleanlyness,maid service,entertainment. great for families & people that want a good safe enviroment . i can truly say i now have many mexican amigos thanks to this resort ,.returning in nov . the staff deserve a special thank you

Lots of kids around, but an adult-only pool w/2 hot tubs and swim up bar helps insulate you from the noise. Get poolside early because most lounge chairs are "saved" by 7am. Lots of options for eating. Breakfast and lunch buffets available be creative and you can put together lots to suit various tastes. There's also huts for poolside chinese, sushi, and bar snacks. Dinner restaurants require reservations that can be made up to 3 days in advance. Do this immediately upon arrival...you can always cancel them. Bring (or buy) your own large plastic mugs or cups. Bars serve small drink cups but they will fill whatever you ask them to fill. Beach is short and rough. Hurricanes have taken much of the beachfront from all the hotels in the Zone so if that's a deal breaker you may want to consider another area of Mexico. Great value. I'll go back.

I read alot of the reviews on this resort before we booked our stay in Cancun, most reviews were good, but a few were negative. I didn't find anything negative about this resort. They were busy working on the grounds all the time and the food is plentiful and very good. The rooms were very clean, maybe could use some updatings, but very nice and we had a 2 bedroom, 3 bath that we exchanged for through RCI and it was very spacious. It was actually 3 rooms. If you have kids, there are alot of things for them to do. We didn't have kids along, but there were alot of kids there. We had never done an all inclusive before so we thought this was the most reasonable one in the Cancun area, and it was great. It's nice not having to pay for everything separate. I would definitely stay here again. Hopefully in a couple of years we'll be back.
