A group of seven friends came to celebrate my 30th birthday. We had so much fun! The rooms were great. Our mini-bar was restocked daily. Food was great. Buffets were pretty good. We had luck making reservations at the restaurants we wanted to eat. Our favorite place was the Japanese place.. the sushi was amazing and we asked for seconds!! We enjoyed the Brazilian steakhouse, the American steakhouse, and the Tapas restaurants as well. Beach was amazing! Drinks were delivered to the beach which was great! Pools were fun. Activities staff kept us entertained in the pool all day! We took advantage of all the activities and had a blast. We met so many new friends on this trip! We would definitely come back and stay here again!! The only thing that bothered us a little was that the beds were very hard. After the first couple of nights we were used to it or the drinks helped us sleep better :)

room description was not accurate. ocean view was only partial view from the left corner of the balcony, breakfast buffett was ok, the only meal of the day that was sustainable. sushi place was good, steak house was horrable, brazilian meal was buffet style with only the meat served at the table and they had a riduculus dress code. tappas was good. room service snacks were poor. the chicken sandwich was the best but something i would never consider eating at home (white bread, mayo, lettuce). only one kind of beer, cheap liquor at bars with mix i could not drink it was so diet soda taste, but really really sweet. hotel smelled of ammnoia that was covering sewer, or mildew smell. hotel staff worked hard. had to call every day about 3 times to get water restocked in room. dirty grout (or mold) in swim up bar. grounds and pool areas pretty. i was very disappointed, all inclusive but i could not eat most of the food or drinks. had to stay out of the hotel as much as possible because of smell and eat outside hotel.

RIU Las Americas - May 31 - June 4

Absolutely beautiful hotel, GREAT food, good drinks, felt totally pampered. RIU gave us an oceanfront room rather than an ocean view... IF our room was an ocean view, I'd recommend it our balcony overlooked the beach. This is probably one of the best resorts I've been in Cancun and I've stayed at many different ones they're the best by far. There many different styles of eating venues within the resort, all good. The food was awesome. The spa treatments;had three different services; were by far the best price I'd ever seen at a resort.

This was our first time at an all inclusive resort, and to Cancun in general. We met several people who have tried many other all-inclusive resorts in Cancun and said that we chose wisely, especially for the first time. The hotel is beautiful. A sister Riu hotel is located next door. Between the two hotels, there is always something to do. I believe it is worth the extra money to stay at the Riu Palace as the guests at the neighboring Riu could not eat at the Riu Palace? The rooms were clean at our hotel, however the hotel has a damp, somewhat musty smell to it. You do get used to it after awhile though and it is not so noticeable. The ocean is clean and beautiful. I could not help but just keep staring out over the blue waters during the trip. My least favorite thing of the hotel is that you have to make reservations for dinner early in the day... or even the day before. The restaurants are small and fill up quickly. Overall, we were all very impressed and would return to this location and any of the other Riu resorts.

Okay
All in all, not bad.

Just returned from a 4 day stay at the Riu Palace Las Americas. Check-in was fairly easy but had to return to the front desk, every morning, to make diner reservations. Not the most convenient. ( Most days had to wait in line, several minutes, only 1 person doing reservations). We stayed in an Ocean-view suite. Room was nice but the bed was uncomfortable. The staff was extremely nice and accomodating. Ordered from the 24 hour room service menu twice. It had a limited selection and the food quality varied. (First night was great but second night the food was cold). All in all, it was a nice trip and would definately stay again.
