Tour of Europe – June/July 2007 – UK, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy & France (spent 2 nights at 15 hotels). Average (mean) cost per night for 2 adults was £72. This was the 1st hotel visited. Cost close to average. Room was a good size and clean. Décor and furniture was in reasonable condition. Comfortable bed. Bathroom OK. Useful safe facility in room. No air con so had to have windows open to stay cool. In view of this, we opted for a room at the back of the hotel, away from the main road. We overlooked an outdoor courtyard where hotel guests were enjoying drinks. There was some noise, but it quietened down before midnight. Continental breakfast provided a reasonable choice – self service. Free WiFi in hotel lobby. Free, secure (electronic gate) car parking. Good location – 10 minutes walking distance to town centre. Staff friendly and helpful – pleasant ambience. Overall, we were happy with our stay in Valkenburg. We would recommend this hotel.
