Faros Holiday Village - Larnaca, Cyprus     

At the end of a 2 week holiday in Cyprus we needed a one night stop over near Larnaca airport . Having stayed one night in Larnaca town on arriving and not getting any sleep we wanted to be outside the main town and Faros is a way out south of Larnaca town and away from the airport. It's got a real holiday camp feel to it and seemed to attract the french and germans in large numbers. We took one night half board which was good value for money but the half board buffet was dismal. Food was cold and seemed to have been sitting out for ages . Beware - this is a recipe for a bad stomach which would ruin your holiday. The full board option gives you free drinks at the bar so if you are looking for a night on the 'lash' enjoy yourself with a never ending bar !! The greek night was on when we stayed and added to the holiday camp feel. Quite a nice beach run by the hotel with canoes, pedalos, sailing boats and widsurfers for rent. They also had jet skiis but at Euro 35 for 15 minutes I thought this was way too expensive. Beach was clean and water lovely and warm and clear to swim. One night was enough for us but for a family with young kids this could be a good place as there were lots of activities and things to keep the little kids and big kids busy.
