Just come back from a five night visit and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. B&B basis. Staff were very helpful, polite and immaculately dressed. Ground floor, reception, restuarant, bar etc is very smart and clean. Accommodation floors and rooms again very clean but a lick of paint and new carpets would make it really smart to match downstairs. Having said that the room was very comfortable and cleaned well every day. Breakfast was excellent, good selection of hot and cold food from a buffet. A chef is also on hand to cook you a fresh omlette. Didnt have one but they looked very good. Fitness centre looked very good as well. Only used the swimming pool and sauna but was very clean and easy yo use. Dont be put off about being the "wrong side of the river" in some posts. The view is great from this side of the old town. Its about a 10min walk to old town and 15mins to new town and an interesting walk as well across the bridge. Tram/bus stop is around the corner with regular and cheap transport across the bridge. Return fare on tram is 60pence (GB). Hotel also runs a courtesy bus to old town but we didnt use it, out of choice. Would recommend and would stay there again.

Whatever people might say about Global Hotel Chains, I like it when I kno exactly what I get wheWhatever people might say about Global Hotel Chains, I like it if I know exactly what I get when I book a room in one of the many 'Chain-Hotels'. This is especially re-assuring after touring the Latvian countryside, never knowing what you are going get at the venues you booked in advance. Even though we where not disappointed many times (please read my other reviews of Latvian Hotels). We checked in to the Radisson for our second last night in Latvia, took a shower and then ‘hit’ the town once more. Check-In was swift and genuinely friendly (at least at Latvian standards). The room had everything you might expect in a 5-star Hotel. What I like the most about the big chains (Radisson, Sheraton, Marriott, Hilton, etc) are the huge and immensely comfortable King or Queen size beds (King in this case) The Old Town is just a short stroll across the bridge. After sprinting back to the hotel across the bridge in poring rain and a cup of tea we hit the huge beds and slept like babies! We only stayed one night so we didn’t get to try all the amenities the Hotel has to offer. Breakfast Buffet was excellent, the only complaint might haven been the Arctic temperatures in the restaurant and the fact that you had to clear the dirty dishes of the table yourself if wished to be seated anytime soon. Highly recommended!
