The hotel was excellent and great value for money.It is a 10 minute ride on trolleybus into town which was not a problem as they ran very regularly. The sushi bars are very reasonable. The Irish bar was a bit of a dump but every where else was lovely.

On quiteness: Very quiet area and very quiet stay. But rooms sound insulation not perfect, so with a noisy neighboor it may not be so quiet.

The location was hard to find but once you are already there it's not so difficult to go to the city. Cab costs around 6 LVL to the city or from the city, tram ticket is 0,50 Ls. It takes 35-45 minutes to go to the city by tram. But the surroundings were scary at the beginning:) Hotel itself was nice, the receptionist was very friendly! Rooms were okay too.

Nice, Clean and Comfortable.

A nice clean hotel situated about 15-20 mins from Riga Old Town by taxi, which will costs around £10 for a return journey. This hotel is basic but adequate and you made to feel welcome from the start. I stayed here with my girlfriend for 4 nights and loved every minute of it. The breakfasts are plentyfull, with hot and colled style buffet on offer. I particuly liked the mini pizza type breakfast snacks! The hotel is in a residential area of Riga and is very quiet and you do feel quite safe, with 24hr reception and resident CCTV. Im not sure if this is needed, but it does make you feel comfortable at night! Bedding was changed daily and the place was spotless from the day we arrived to the day we left. There were only about 10 rooms in the whole hotel that were actually being used so we sort of had the run of the place! Overall, if you are looking for a clean, comfortable and well priced place to stay in Riga, I would strongly advise you look at the Vilmaja - we did and we dont regret it for 1 minute!
