Hotel President - Luxembourg, Luxembourg     

I booked this hotel via hotels.com and got an excellent deal. I therefore decided to go all out and booked a suite. The suite was at the top floor of the hotel and consisted of a large bedroom, a corridor, a bath room and a toilet. Everything was nicely done in wood. The strange thing however was that there was hardly any furniture in the room. Apart from the large bed there was only one chair and one small table in the room. I would at least expect a sofa and a nice place to sit and work. As such it was a bit difficult to work in. However, if you like open spaces, this a probably the best you can get ;-) I also lacked high speed internet. Breakfast is served as a buffet but choice is VERY limited (very basic continental style breakfast) The hotel is located opposite the train station and this is either a very good location or a very bad one, depending on the reason why you are staying in Luxembourg. It is very convenient for business travellers (train, buses, taxis nearby) but if you are there for your holiday you probably won't like the fact that it is rather a long way off from the historical center of town and smack in the middel of the red light district....

War Anfang September 2006 hier, als ich geschäftlich in Luxenburg zu tun hatte. Das Hotel ist ok, recht guter Service und ordentliche Zimmer. Für Geschäftsreisende fehlt allerdings eine schnelle Internetverbindung und ,dass man telefonieren und surfen gleichzeitig kann. Sonntag abends kann man leider nicht hier essen. Geräumige Bäder und die Zimmer waren nett. Die Lage war weniger wünschenswert – es liegt in einem der ärmeren Gegenden, ca 2km vom Zentrum entfernt. Zurzeit wird an zwei Stellen im Haus gebaut, da das Hotel renoviert wird. Da musste man sich während gebohrt wurde auf die Arbeit konzentrieren! Die Angestellten haben gar nichts dazu gesagt. Alles in allem war es ok, würde aber eher 3 anstelle 4* gerecht werden. Sehr teuer für das, was man letztendlich bekommt.
