Lanhydrock Hotel & Golf Club - Bodmin, United Kingdom 

Stayed one night after a trip back from the Scilly Islands. We were very pleased with the standard of the room. Very clean and comfortable with a good spacious bathroom with a seperate large corner shower. We thought the food in the Bistro was excellent - we complimented the chef - as to the quality and presentation of our meal. Also worth mentioning is the fact that all the staff we met were very friendly and showed an excellent appreciation of customer service. Breakfast was also very good. Bisto had nice views over the golf course. Whilst there is no gym, pool or other leisure facilities (other than golf) I would recommend this hotel and would certainly stay there again.

Stayed at the Lanhydrock with my husband and 2 very young children. The Hotel matched the best internet rate I could find and we stayed in one of the "wet rooms" (large wet room as the bathroom). The Hotel staff did everything possible to make our stay as pleasant as possible and were especially welcoming. The room was large, contemporary and very clean with crisp white sheets with plenty of room for the extra bed and cot. The restaurant/bistro was extremely good value and the food was excellent. Again, the staff were brilliant and very attentive. The breakfast buffet (in the bistro) was fresh and tasty and had great views out over the golf course. Breakfast staff again - excellent. Other hotels of a similar star rating nearer the coast were at least 50% more expensive and I doubt they would have lived up to our high expectations. The Lanhydrock is about 15mins from Padstow, about 35mins from Newquay etc so a good base to explore from. I have only praise for this hotel and its staff and will definitely be returning.
