Hotel Dei Dragomanni address: San Marco 2711, Venice, 30124

Hotel Dei Dragomanni details: Occupying an excellent position in Venice, within easy reach of the city’s main attractions, the hotel is set within a 17th-century building which combines tradition and modernity.

Set in a splendid scenario, the hotel is close to the marvellous Campo S.Maurizio, famous for its antiques market (6 times a year), the Accademia Gallery, preserving the Venetian masterpieces and the wonderful Piazza S.Marco.

Featuring one of the last examples of the Alla Leonardesca double staircase, the property's central position will allow you to breathe the magical atmosphere of the city, suspended between east and west, and tour the charming nearby islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello.

After reading all the great reviews I booked my room through Expedia. First of all it took several weeks and then a call directly to the hotel to obtain the confirmation. Location is not all that great. It is advertised as a 5-10min walk from San Marco, which is fine in any other city but Venice. My mom and I had to cross 5-7 bridges (climbing up and down numerous steps) with heavy luggage before we finally got to the hotel. Make sure you write down street name which is NOT San Marco. Room was nice but for the price they charged us and compared to 3.5 hotels we stayed at in Florence and Rome I believe it was overpriced. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. Dining room area was very small and could not accomodate more that 5-6 couples at a time. Walls are very thin I had to call front desk one night to calm down noisy neighbours upstairs. Next time I am in Venice I will find something nicer.
