near to San Marco and directly on the Riva. Room was a bit small but good just for one night.

Located just 2 minuutes walking distance from st. marks square hotel is ideally located to explore venice. rates are reasonable. breakfast is decent. Getting here from the train station is easy, catch ferry 42/52 and it stops right in front of the hotel ( next stop after st. marks square) receptionist was very friedly and spoke fluent english, helped us with maps and show bookings. rooms have a nice venetian decor and are of good size. no elevators in the old wing so if you are on the second floor with lugage it might be a bit difficult.

I have stayed many many times at Hotel Paganelli and as a travel agent and guide, I have also booked many clients into this hotel over the years. What a wonderful surprise when I arrived in May 2008. They had just gone through an entire renovation. New elevator, new lobby, new rooms, new bathrooms! We loved it. What didn't change was the wonderful welcome and service we have always received and the pleasant breakfast. I for one plan on returning each year as long as I am able to travel.
