Atlantide Hotel - Venice, Italy     

Better than Expected!! the hotel is very basic hotel, but not bad at all/// very close to train station. we actually walked with out laggage for about 5 minutes. The room was small, but clean. Bathroom was very clean and new with this new fansy shower. The breakfast was fine.. but served in very small room. so some people had tp wait for others to finish. I think you can also go to sister hotel near by to have breakfast. The staff spoke english and was very helpful. there was girl -- he asked her to show us nice places to eat.. she tried her best english and was very helpful..We had very early flight ..and staff gave us coffee and crossons ..very nice of them.. YOU can walk to Realto Bridge in about 15 minutes or even to st.Mark square..in 20-25 minutes from hotel. If you need to take bus to airport.. you will have to walk to Roma piazza. about 10 minutes from hotel.. Not BAD// I think that hotel is exellent value for money.. i would stay again.

I guess you pay for what you get. Hotel is up a very narrow dark alley way but is very close to the Santa Lucia railway station and on the main Venice island. Hotel is extremely basic and breakfast room is too small for the amount of guests. You may be asked to take breakfast in a neighbouring hotel (part of the same chain). We had a top floor room which had plastic doors and just didn't look secure. Baggage was left with Reception, but not put in a secure location, everyones baggage is simply left in the lobby corridoor. There is no English speaking T.V. (no CNN / BBC World) But you don't come to Venice to watch TV! Room decor is extremelly dated we had patches of missing wallpaper and it was also peeling off in other places. Less than 5 minutes walk from train station and Vaporetto station. (Water busses). Most places are walkable, 20 minutes to Rialto and 25 / 30 minutes to St Marks. Stay here if location and budget are your only concerns. Check the hotel website, this was cheaper than any price we found with any other website. Room payment was cash only on arrival.
