Okay
"Close to perfect in Venice!"

A friend and I just returned from 4 nights at the Palladio. It more than lived up to our expectations. Unlike another recent guest, I thought the breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice. There were also hooks in our bathroom, which he seemed to find missing. The decoration and ambiance at the hotel was perfect. The location was quiet, and the view of St. Marks from the island was the best in Venice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There are reasonable restaurants on Guidecca as well. The Bauer Hotel, owned by the same company, was a great base to use during the day while on the Venice side, and they were very solicitous to Palladio guests. The boat ride over and back was a great way to start and end each day, and there is a very convenient public waterbus stop nearby. The welcoming glass of champagne at reception upon returning in the evening, was the perfect touch. Beds were quite comfortable, and linens and towels were of the highest quality. A couple of small suggestions: a mirror in the bedroom would be perfect for when two people are trying to get ready at the same time, as the only mirrors were in the bathroom. Some free wireless internet access would be very thoughtful, even if it was in a public area downstairs. Otherwise it could be very expensive for guests to use the internet. I will definitely be returning the the Bauer Palladio, and highly recommend it to others.

Very Good! Perfect location to enjoy Venice and its views while not being surrounded by San Marco tourist crowd. The slight inconvenience of being on another island is compensated with the complimentary shuttle to and from San Marco.

Everything was as advertised. We had fantastic time and the free boat service was absolutely a bonus.

Lovely quiet hotel with excellant surroundings/rooms& service. However dont buy food and drink there- was sooooo expensive and much cheaper on the island (not in hotels)or on" mainland" Venice.I went with my mother who couldnt swim and was a little unsteady and would not recommend this hotel as you have to get on a small boat to the main area of Venice- also when weather is bad boat will not operate.Breakfast was good and in peaceful area. Would receommed Di Monti-i think for pizza on the island -it was lovely & very reasonable. There are supermarkets on the island also.

We paid for a double and got stuck in a pokey back-room with little space and a view of an internal shaft to delight us. The hotel staff were polite and mannerly, but the prices for room-service were the most outrageous rip-offs I have ever experienced. We moved to another hotel after two days, our experience ruined for those. Perhaps other visitors got better rooms, but ours was dark and cramped. Location is very good though, handy for St. Mark's Square, though the one we moved to was much closer and much nicer.
