Hotel Dona Palace - Venice, Italy 

Good Hotel-Good Location

Stayed off-season at a discounted rate. Had no problems with the hotel at all. Room was perfect and surprisingly big for cramped Venice. WiFi internet was free (you have to get a password at the front desk), and the breakfast buffet excellent. My only interaction with the staff was at check-in/out, and they were very friendly and efficient. Location was excellent-just off St Marks Square. Finding the hotel was tricky. The map on the hotel's own website links to Google Maps, and it screwed up on the location big time. I spent almost an hour looking for the hotel. Rick's Steves guidebook has the location accurately on it's map- if you pass by a McDonald's, you headed in the right direction. Be warned that the food in Venice is mediocre! Most all restaurants in the tourist areas cater exclusively to tourists so they don't have to rely on repeat business.

Excelent location, very near San Marco square. Very good price by venere.com. Very very very nice room.

Very lovely hotel VERY close to San Marco Square. The breakfast (which is included in the price) is fabulous and served in a beautiful room in the "Palace". Our only complaint was that we could not access CNN or other English speaking channel on the Television. Otherwise, we had a great stay at this Hotel with very helpful and friendly staff.
