great small hotel with everything you need. Close to San Marco (2 bridges away) and away from the noise. Plenty of restaurants and shops around. The front desk personel was helpfull in many ways and sugested how and what to see in my very short stay. Be aware that venice is a network of people that work with each other. When someone says that something is included or complementary, rest assured that they will sell you something later. gondolas are about 80 dollars for 45 minutes, however, if you really want to see venice take it in the afternoon and pay the extra 30 dollars (1 hour plus) for a ride in the grand canal. its worth it.
venice is special and unique at night, sit in piazza san marco and enjoy the music with a drink and your love one.
Fantastic location, great venetian hotel, good to stay somewhere with character rather than 4* blandness. Lived up to expectations and more - would highly recommend.
We booked at Villa Igea. But this hotel was overbooked. Therefore, they gave us a room at the sister hotel Savoia & jolanda.
Although, this is a 4 stars, I would rather rate it as an excellent 3 stars hotel. I think that the room could have had nicer furniture for a 4*. However, for the price we paid, the deal was excellent. We did not have any view from the room, since the window was facing the opposite building separated by a little alley.
The location was absolutely excellent, only 2 minutes from San Marco square. It was very easy to find.
The buffet breakfast was varied, but did not change much. Crumbled eggs, bacon, parma ham, mortadella, emmenthal, croissants (not the best), yogurts, cakes, fruit salad, fruits, orange juice and tea, coffee, chocolate.
I will definitely go back to this hotel or the sister hotel for the price, the service and the location.
We went for the carnival and had a special price through Venere.com (60 euro per night instead of the 260 Euro described on the hotel's website). We kept wondering how it was possible to have such a good price during the carnival, especially since the hotel is really well located (2-3min away from San Marco Plaza) but fortunately we paid the price indicated at Venere.com. The staff was nice and helpful. The breakfast was not amazing but nothing to complain about. I would recommend this hotel, especially at the rate we got. Best deal we had in a while!!
My Initial inquiry which was made on the phone with Venere personnel was helpful and handled with patience and professionalism.
Every employee I encountered(from the chambermaid and porters to those who worked at the reception) at Hotel Igea was kind, courteous, helpful and patient.I was very impressed by their pleasant and attentive (but not intrusive) manner. My room was very clean and breakfast was excellent as was the service. I would highly recommend this hotel.
