the breakfast was a little poor. Not enough for us. We like to begin the day with a famous breakfast.
The apartments we stayed in were very, very nice. Marble floors, large rooms, heated towel racks, both even had washing machines. There were 5 adults in two apartments w/a connecting door which was nice. These were off property apartments by a few blocks. I asked the person who checked us in about the free breakfast and he said that would not be possible because of the location and they would discount our stay. These apartments were listed as serviced apartments. We were there for two nights and got no service. When we checked out, our "discount" for no breakfast was a total of 30 Euro. If you've ever been to Venice, there is no way that five adults could come close to eating two breakfast each for that amount. When I asked about not getting any service at the apartments, they looked at me like I was crazy for expecting that. Said we had only been there for two nights and had we stayed longer we would have received service. I argued that the apartments were listed as serviced and that we should have received service or they needed to relist them. Got me nowhere. We will not be returning to this property as nice as the rooms were. We come to Venice often as we live in Italy (and get quite a bit of company from the States) and have found other properties that offer similar rooms with much better service and breakfast.
Have been to Venice many times and this is one of the best small hotels I've stayed in. Great location about 5 mins from the Rialto, with lots of reasonably priced (for Venice) restaurants around. Our room was big, like an apartment with mini kitchenette and seperate bedroom. Only gripe was that the water in the evening wasn't very hot. Have recommended it to friends who have booked up already! Good for couples, families.
I greatly appreciate location of this hotel, which was just few steps from Rialto, round the corner from Strada Nuova. It is very calm and convenient place to stay for tourist who would like to enjoy Venice during nights and early morning (highly recommended).
