Duodo Palace Hotel - Venice, Italy 

Had a very enjoyable stay at the Duodo Palace

I have just returned from venice having stayed in the Duodo Palace hotel. We were in room 101 which did not have lift access to it,as it was a room that seemed to be between floors. The flight of stairs did not bother us but it could be an issue for some. The room was in good condition and the bathroom was very spacious, and we couldnt fault it. I felt the location was good as it was only about 10mins from the waterbus stop that came straight from the airport. It was also close to St Marks Square. The only fault we really had with the hotel was with the breakfast (it was inculded in our package otherwise we wouldn't have bothered with it at all). For a four star Hotel the quality was very poor, and we had to request for items to be replaced instead of this happenind automatically. I would stay again at this hotel as apart from the breakfast we couldnt really fault it. And we had a lovely stay. An another note, if travelling into venice by water bus you do not need to queue at the ticket desk in the airport for a ticket as tickets can be bought on board. This could make the difference of catching a boat or having to wait an hour for the next one.

Wonderful little hotel in a perfect location 2 mins from St marks -and the grand canal - incredibly difficult to find, especially if you arrive at night as we did. However the lack of public rooms i.e there is no restaurant or bar to speak of -lets it down and I would have to call it a 3 star not a 4 - it is a real shame that there is nowhere to have a night cap after a hard day and catch up with fellow guests -also the worst hairdryers ever - ladies pack your own! Staff friendly, welcoming and helpful.

From the first moment we arrived at the Duodo Palace, the staff could not have been more welcoming and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble for them and this combined with the cleanliness and location of the hotel was just perfect to explore the delights of this beautiful city. Would highly recommend it to anyone.
