Ca' San Rocco - Venice, Italy     

My Girlfriend and I recently stayed at the Ca' San Rocco whilst attending a music festival in nearby Mestre. We had a nice large room (#2) close to the breakfast patio. The place is absolutely fine. Its clean, the breakfasts are good (not great but good), its quiet and a close walk to the train station and some very good restaurants. When we arrived I made the mistake of printing a map of their location from Google, that had me two blocks away from their hotel - and in Venice two blocks is a major pain. However one of the two young ladies that manage the place came out to meet us after we called her and showed us the correct way to the hotel. The reception isnt staffed after the early evening so she kindly stayed to wait for us as it was nearing midnight by this time (try to avoid the connection in Rome Airport if you can). Good Points...... Clean, Quiet, Nice Room, Air Con, Reasonable Price Not so good points (and these are all very minor points). The withering look I received when I left the reception door open in the blasting heat letting the air con out. Sorry dear but I thought the door would swing shut behind me as the outer gate does. No beer in the mini-bar, not that I really needed another beer after a day at a music festival. Two single bed mattresses pushed together to form a double. Thats about it really. In all honesty if I return to Venice next year for the same festival I will certainly consider staying there again.
