I liked the location near the train station and comfortable room overlooking an enclosed courtyard.

They tried to up the charges for another day's stay by 3X and also the staff were not very warm.

The tides did not affect the water bus or water taxis like at other stops on the canals and the Carlton was a great location to stay before taking a cruise ship vacation.
