The location is excellent - near enough St Marks, the hotel is located in a pretty quiet square and the rooms are clean. Breakfast is taken in a tiny annex to reception - food is good. . Read review

From Venice "Marco Polo" airport, there are several options to reach Locanda Formosa:
- with a private water taxi get off at the stop in front of the hotel;
- with the "Alilaguna" speed boat get off at San Zaccaria (the trip should last about 1 and 15 minutes, cost 10 €). From Riva degli Schiavoni go towards Calle delle Rasse, beside Hotel Danieli. Walk along this street until you reach Campo di San Filippo e Giacomo. Once you arrive here turn right for Calle Drio la Chiesa and after the bridge, Calle dei Mercanti. Turn left for Calle Corte Rotta and Ruga Giuffa, until you reach Campo Santa Maria Formosa. Go around the church and when you arrive to the canal (Canale dei Preti) follow the "fondamenta" on your right to number 5841 where Locanda Formosa is situated.
- the "Venezia Air Terminal" bus (cost 3 €) will bring you to Piazzale Roma in 20 minutes. From here you can take vaporetto no. 82 (Canal Grande ticket, cost 5 €)and get off at the Rialto stop. From here, take Calle Larga Mazzini and then turn left for Campo San Bartolomeo; take Sotoportego della Bissa and then Salizzada San Lio after the bridge. Take the third "calle" on the left (Calle del Paradiso), follow the directions for Campo San Giovanni e Paolo/Ospedale Civile. Walk the entire "calle" , passing the bridge and then another bridge on the right. Locanda Formoso is immediately to the left at no. 5841.

By car
Arriving by car, you can park in Piazzale Roma, in Garage San Marco which offers a special rate for our hotel. You can then reach Locanda Formosa in two ways:

The location was ideal for sightseeing, the staff was pleasant and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was nice.

The room decor was old and tired, the taxi operator was able to understand my broken Italian.

The location was not bad to see the Venice, value was great and staff were so helpful and pleasant. Additionally rooms were clean and breakfast was ideal as you expect of a buffett breakfast.

We had a view of the canal was nice and the hotel was beautiful/location was perfect. The service was exceptional, our room was spacious enough for the 4 of us plus luggage and the breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful.
