What Travellers Like

When we arrived, they told us we had been upgraded to a room on the top floor (room 556) with an incredibly view of the Grand Canal. There were two large lounge chairs on the patio as well as a table and chairs where we ate breakfast each morning. The room itself was amazing with a king size bed and huge bathroom with a marble decor. The staff was nice, not overly friendly, but helped us with a map and dinner reservations. A quick note about food: A delicious restaurant called Bancogiro had been recommended to us by a friend (it is Piazza San Giacometto) and it is also known as Osteria de Andrea. It was absolutely FANTASTIC, so great in fact that we ate there both nights. A great treat and lovely location as you sit outside and overlook the Grand Canal. You can purchase this pass at the tourist bureau in the train station or wait in the long lines at the ticket station outside. We also tool the alilaguna to the airport for 12Eu instead of hiring a taxi.. Read review

From Highways A4 (Milan-West/Trieste-East), A1 (Bologna-South), A27 (Cortina-North):
- Exit the highways at Venezia and follow the state road signs to Venezia. Cross the Liberty Bridge (approximately 4 km long), proceed straight on at the traffic lights to car parking facilities at Piazzale Roma. For valet parking assistance refer to the Hertz - Mattiazzo Agency Office located at ground level under the Garage Comunale and open 8:30 am to 7:30 pm. Self-parking facilities are available 24 hours from the Garage Communale found immediately on the right-hand side of the ramp leading to Piazzale Roma. View transport options below from Piazzale Roma to the hotel.

From Venice Marco Polo International Airport:
- Hostess assisted transfers at additional charge, may be arranged through the hotel's concierge desk with a minimum of 24 hours advance notice. Includes personal greeting by hostess outside luggage claim area, porter assistance, private transfer to airport boat pier, pre-arranged private water taxi to hotel (without hostess). Travel time is approx. 50 minutes. Transfer charged to guest hotel bill. Full flight details required.
- By water taxi, available 24 hours. Apply to Starwood Desk in the arrival hall, open from 9 am to 5:30 pm. When the Starwood Desk is closed, contact the Taxi Desk "Consorzio Venezia Motoscafi" for assistance. Cash payment.
