What Travellers Like

The service is much better than in other great famous hotels not only in Venice but in all europe. The rooms are really original and you would stay there many more days than you'd do. It's not an hotel, it's much more: feels like a private paradise with a personal majordome at service.. Read review

It's in a fantastic, quiet location, and although it's easy to get over the water to the bustle of St Marks et al, we were very, very tempted not to bother. The hotel is quite swanky so we were slightly concerned to turn up there with a five-year-old in tow, but the staff could not have been kinder or more accommodating. The restaurant recommended to us for supper didn't look much, but the food and service were fantastic - perfect. The rose petals on the beds at night were a lovely touch, but that's what this place is about - attention to detail.. Read review

The staff were extremely helpful and polite and recommended some great restuarants. They greeted us with Champagne and passion fruit and put rose petals on our bed every night. The hotel is decorated with a mixture of old and new which works extremely well. As there are only 14 rooms it is very peaceful and has a beautiful calm atmosphere. We stayed in room 332 which had great views of the Santa Maria Del Salute and the Grand Canal. The hotel location is perfect - close enough to everything but far enough away from all the tourists.. It's much quieter that being in the throngs of St Marks but you can easily hop on the water bus and speed over if you want to. The staff were incredible helpful and made us feel very special. The breakfasts were simple but tasty and enjoyed in a beautiful breakfast room. The rooms were sumptiously decorated with very comfy beds.. Read review

Location - 150 yards away from the Grand Canal, down a quiet smaller canal. The hotel is on Dorsodouro, the opposite side of the Grand Canal to San Marco square, but it is one stop across the water on the Vaporetto. Close enough to the main tourist attractions, but far enough away for some peace and quiet. Room - We stayed in one of the themed rooms, Sala Noir. Beautifully decorated, a king double with a good mattress and pillows, a great bathroom up some stairs from the bedroom, a mini bar that was always filled with free water and soft drinks. A romantic and peaceful and comfortable room. Staff - helpful, polite, cheerful, efficient. Breakfast - huge choice, you order from a card the night before, all beautiful breads / jams / juices / fruit / yoghurts / honey / eggs / parma ham / cheeses etc. Of the restaurants that were booked, I'd recommend Lineadombra, a short walk from the hotel, with a terrace with great views of the southern venice islands.

Six years ago we spent a week in a great antique apartment on the Grand Canal near the Academia Bridge and feared that this experience could not be surpassed. As for Venice we love it, but this time it was very quiet.

Great selections of restaurant which they will recommend and reserve for you. A trip to Murano by water taxi is included in the stay. We stayed in The Oriental Room which is on a smaller canal and is directly across from the Salute church. The staff are helpful and loaned us a laptop for the day.

Our upgraded room was stunning and the attention to detail amazing. The only improvement possible would be to have a few English speaking channels available on the television, for relaxing between the hectic sightseeing and the romantic evening dining.
