We had a lovely room and charming staff. BMIbaby managed to lose my luggage, The hotel was as helpful as could be. We also liked the discount for cash. :-) The sole reservation, and not worthy of knocking down a star, was their recommendation of the restaurant opposite (under two metres door to door!) That restaurant was underwhelming, aloof and expensive. OTOH they had recommended Rosa Rossa (five minutes stroll towards Tialto) as cheep and cheerful. Their spaghetti al'aglio, olio et peporincino was my favourite. So that balanced it out. BTW, their gondolier seems to be quite a find. But she doesn't "do" mornings.

This hotel seems to be hit or miss based on the other reviews, but we had no problems. Our room( junior suite for 3 people) had alot of character, the bathroom was clean, fully equipped, and newly tiled. The breakfast was standard continental and was included in the price. The staff was helpful and friendly. Above average for Venice.

This was a great little hotel on a narrow street just a few minutes from a vaporetto stop, not far from Accademia Bridge in one directino and from St Mark's in the other. We had room 'S' which had both a double bed (two singles made into one bed) and a separate single bed. It was spotlessly clean and quiet, just up one set of stairs from the hotel lobby and right beside the Breakfast area (we were not affected by any early morning noise from breakfasts, but a light or late sleeper might be). Our friends had a room on the next floor that overlooked a bar below, and they did mention that the noise was a little bothersome one night (it was closed another night, and the third night they said that although it was open, it wasn't as noisy as the first night). Breakfast consisted of a selection of hard rolls and croissants, coffee and juice (this was pretty typical of all of the breakfasts we had in Florence and Rome, also). But, about two doors down from the hotel on Piazza S. Stephano was a little cafe that had croissants (warm chocolate croissants, yum!) and other breakfast treats, if you want some variety. There is also a little wine store across the street, and the hotel will lend you a corkscrew and glasses if you ask. By the way, if you ask for recommendations about a gondola ride, they will recommend their gondoliera and won't really give you much other information.
