It was our 18th wedding Anniversay and hubby and I wanted to stay where we had our reception all those years back. I must say we had a wonderful time. I had emailed to say we would love to stay after all these years and they give us the EXCECUTIVE SUITE WITH KING SIZE BED & JACUZZI WITH COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST all for the same price as normal rates. When we arrived the staff had left a bottle of bubble on ice and a card. We had a lovely meal which did not cost a fortune. And the room was just wonderful. As for breakfast we couldn't have asked for anything more. So we will be going back real soon. Thanks to the staff we had a perfect wedding Anniversay. Thanks all who made our stay a good one.

We arrived at this travel lodge type accommodation on the Saturday, having booked via the internet. We did arrive slightly earlier than the requested time on the offchance they may be able to accommodate us. There was no one at all on the reception when we arrived but there was at least a sign directing us to the inn itself. They were quite obliging and accompanied us to reception where we were then asked "are you staying for one night"...we'd booked 5 nights...but that didn't pose any particular problems. We booked non-smoking and we pre requested some extra pillows as from experience, with less than 2 pillows I snore! We set off to find our room...and unfortunately it had a strong odour of stale cigarettes...and an empty (clean) ashtray. There was also a lack of extra pillows and not enough towels - The towel and pillows were soon chased up and duly supplied. We admittedly did not complain about the smell but weren't entirely happy. The cleaners visited daily, changing sheets daily and towels (even though we had suggested that daily towel changes weren't necessary). They emptied the main room bin daily but not the bathroom bin. We only had one breakfast at the inn - very nice, but pricey! We had one evening meal there too - again nice and again very pricey. The location is very easy to find...2 mins from junction 14 of the M1. It is signposted from there as "Services" and consequently there is a petrol station and a Spar shop which was well stocked. Dungannon itself is about 10 minutes away in the car. It has lots of Chinese restaurants but little else although driving around we did see a McDonalds. There is a Tesco in town too...with a petrol station...but don't be fooled by the big sign by the door that confirms that there is a cafe inside....There is not! Ireland is a beautiful place. We visited Belfast, Portrush, Dunluce Castle, Newry, Giant's Causeway, Carlingford, Kilkeel, etc. We also bought a family day rover for the train which cost £15 for us 2 adults/2 kids. We drove the car to Portadown Station and parked it there for the day and travelled first to Belfast Central (breakfast there). Then we caught a train to Coleraine and changed there for Londonderry. That part of the route is absolutely beautiful and breathtaking...highly recommended. We travelled on that as a direct result of an item on BBC's "Countryfile" programme that my youngest (age 8) saw, which said that the transport review board are wanting to close that line down because it doesn't make enough money! My 8year old was desperate to go so we didand I am so glad to have had the privilege of travelling on it! (We signed the petitions and e-mailed the review board as soon as we returned to England.) So I would definitely recommend a visit to Ireland...both sides of the border...but maybe not the Autolodge and Cohannon Inn
