0I can't comment on the quality of the facility because we never got there.
I can say that their customer service showed their ignorance about its value to travelers.
We booked our 2 night package with them slightly more than 24 hours (÷/- 3 hours) before we got robbed, and had to cancel. All of our travel tickets were stolen and we couldn't make our trip. All other hotels (Germany, France, and Italy), allowed us to cancel our reservations without penalty.
The Orchidea did not, even though we offered to fax the police reports to verify our circumstances.
We called them, and emailed, as we did Venere.com, and all other services we dealt with, to immediately communicate our situation, and make cancellations. We were treated with kindness, sympathy, and respect (which we'll remember for future travel). However, in the case of the Orchidea, we experienced impatience, hostility, and unabashed rudeness, and an absolute inflexibility related to the reservation, even though our arrival to them was still 11 days away, and again, our reservation with them little more than 24 hours old.
Evidently, they had charged our card the full amount within hours of our having made the reservation with them, and were not interested in returning the amount. Their position was that it was a non-refundable reservation category, period.
Our position is that they look a bit desperate, which we take now as a warning about the quality of their business.
This experience caused us to feel we had been robbed, twice.
We have traveled all over the world and return where service and setting are good. This commentary is born of the sheer exasperation that dealing with the Orchidea caused us to feel. We will not stay there and cannot possibly recommend it to anyone as a place to go.
Note: Venere.com is awesome. Thanks for your help!
