Having seen the Hotel Website and the pictures noted, we decided to stay over in the Hotel paying ?115 for a standard double rather than less for a lower quality Hotel. We expected a failry basic but clean Hotel. Oh how we were wrong! This Hotel is a disgrace. The room was shabby and dated and smelt like an ash tray. The windows of the entire Hotel are covered in grime and the beds may as well not have a mattress on them for the comfort they actually give. The only positive thing about the Hotel is the fact that it is located in a nice part of London and is close to the Tube. However, we are surprised that the locals put up with such an eyesore. Never before have we been in a Hotel where we checked out early so we could go home to clean up! As noted in the header - avoid this Hotel like the plague!!

Stayed at the Britannia Hampstead Hotel for 4 nights. I was pleasantly surprised after reading the reviews on tripadvisor. Yes, the beds were uncomfortable. But the room was clean and the hotel was a good value. The location was great, in a residential neighborhood, about a 10 minute walk from the tube. I would stay there again.
