Minerva - Santa Margherita Ligure, Italy 

Located on a quiet street a few blocks from the seaside promenade, this is a wonderful hotel. We thought that the Euro 122 per night (including breakfast) that we paid was a bargain. The rooms are spotless, all of the furnishings are in great shape, and all of the equipment works. Importantly for summer visitors, the air conditioning is very efficeint. Internet access is available for a nominal charge. We had a room with a small balcony that was charming. The staff is very attentive and helpful. The breakfast is delicious. There is an excellent restaurant, Il Faro, about a block away. Ask for the Evergreen Menu. We stayed 3 nights and would definitely go back if we return to this part of Italy.
