We arrived to spend our honeymoon on the 9th of june 08.The sheer elegance of the reception area was a good start.I could not wait to see our double room with panoramic views.On entry i could not hide my disappointment to my wife.I discreetly went to reception to see if a mistake had been made-alas it hadnt.I enquired about the possibility of upgrading to a room with a sea view.NO joy unless i was prepared to pay an extra 90euros a night.I pointed out we were on honeymoon but to no avail. We had breakfast and dinner included.Breakfast was at best average for our whole stay.The staff for dinner including Mr. Roberto were very welcomming.The only problem was that the resteraunt was empty most evenings and we were like museum pieces on display,which made us a little uncomfortable.We did not see any entertainment in the hotel during evenings and everything was closed at 10.30.We took the free bus in the evenings into sorrento as it was much livelier in there.Be sure to use the free bus as a taxi into sorrento costs25-28 euro. I know this may sound all negative and about the hotel it generally was.As a destination i will go back but nowhere near this hotel.Really should not be able to trade as a 5 star

Probably because it was a weekend I got a very good rate. The rate suggested that it was low because of the (lack of) view -- the view was certainly OK. I liked the bar, even though the poor thing was empty. I stayed away from the restaurant because it looked like it was full of pre-paid tourist bus folks, not a good sign for a good meal. Instead, I took the hotel bus to Sorrento. I am not clear why this bus seems to offend some other folks in this and other websites that have reviewed the place, it seemed fine to me. They share it with the Parc De Sole. I guess it could run a bit more often than it does. The air-conditioning in my room did not work. But hey, it’s Italy. And the room was really very nice. Perhaps a little more sound insulation would be good? But really, this is not a noisy place, so don't let this put you off.
