Location

At about 18 Km from the centre of Verona, the production area of the Soave wine, one of the most famous wines from Veneto, stretches eastwards. With its straw-yellow colour, its characteristic and intense fragrance, and its dry bouquet, the Soave Classico D.O.C.( controlled and quaranteed quality wine produced in defined areas ) is originally obtained from the numerous vineyards spread all along the magnificent hills surrounding the town that bears the same name: Soave. This lovely town, the historical heart of which is enclosed within the superb Scaligere walls, expands over mild hills covered with vineyards running northwards. But the Tramigna valley and the Alpone Valley, both encircling the town of Soave, are not only well-know for the wine. The first one, in fact, is one of tne most important production areas for cherries in the entire Veronese territory. The second one, the Alpone Valley, thanks to its natural wealth, an immense abundance of perfectly preserved fossils well displayed at the Bolca Museum, counts on its international fame. Finally, south from Verona, the Soave area presents its most interesting feature: the termal complex of Caldiero.
