Hotel Louisa - Oostende, Belgium 

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Louisa The rooms were clean and the beds especialy comfortable The buffet breakfast had a wide choice including all the usual breads,jams,meats etc. We had a room at the back of the hotel which as very quiet We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Ostend

We checked into the Louisa for one night and were extremely impressed even before arrival. In order to clarify my booking (as I requested more than one room) the hotel called me to discuss and ensure that I was happy, they prefer to discuss by phone rather than e mail! A great start and initial impression which is so often lacking. We arrived before 15:00 and were able to go straight to our room (Even though the cleaner was not quite finished) and drop our bags. We were informed of the breakfast time and asked if we needed any advice on Ostend (we travel approx 6 times a year so this wasn't required) and also where to find parking facilities by very friendly staff. What a location, only metres away from the main square and shopping centre. Whilst there is no hotel parking, if we could find a space in the main car park on the hottest saturday of the year, then parking shouldn't be a problem for anyone. The room, whilst not modern was extremely large with a fantastic balcony and was very clean. Breakfast again was impressive with the lovely aroma of freshly baked croissants and "pain au chocolate". A good selection for continental and of course no breakfast would be complete without a tasty golden yolk boiled egg (why are our british eggs so often tasteless with a sallow yellow colour?). I have now stayed in several hotels and whilst my favourite is the Thermae Palace, for a short stay in Ostend, I can guarantee that I will return to the Louisa. It's friendly, fantastically placed to the main square and is exceptional value for money. I look forward to staying there again in the very near future.
