4.4This hotel is a beautiful, quiet, oasis of calm in a busy city. We had read that it was not close to the major tourist sites and were a little worried about location. Well, after touring the fabulous sites of Rome with thousands of other visitors and maneuvering through subway stations and Roman traffic (an experience onto itself) we were so relieved to turn off the main street and walk up Via di Sant'Anselmo. Just a few steps along the winding street the noise and traffic disappears.
Our room was elegantly decorated and clean, but a little tight for space. The bathroom was mostly marble and very nice. A full shower door would be a better idea, however. We wouldn't dare try all the fixtures on the multi option shower set up for fear of flooding the place. We had to soak up the floor with every available towel as it was.
The breakfast buffet was excellent. Cheeses, meats, fruit, breads and pastries, cereals and much more. Best coffee ever! The Breakfast room itself is beautiful (as is the design of the entire hotel)
The staff are efficient and cordial - not gushingly friendly, but always willing to help with reservations, directions etc.
