After reading a few bad reviews of this hotel I was a bit put off about boooking it. I emailed them and copied some of the comments from other bad reviews into the email. They emailed me back and said they hadn't recieved any complaints at the time and assured me of a good stay. We got back last night after a 3 night stay and it was fantastic. Beautiful room on the 4th floor with a huge bed, the room was deocrated in red and gold with huge windows. Bathroom had a huge shower all decorated in marble. The location was good, within walking distance of the metro and lots of restaurants. Make sure to get the bus from the airporrt to the Metro and then the metro to barberni only 2.20 euros each, better than 45 eruos for a taxi!

Nice hotel, if I go back to Italy probably will like a place more in the center of the city. This hotel was well care and we found the room very cute. We have to walk a lot to get to Termini station.

Overview: Noisy - on the corner of 2 very busy roads Shabby - even in a suite the toilet door didnt shut and the shower jets flooded the bathroom Staff at reception are rude and unhelpful - I think very used to complaints! Very small rooms even by big city standard If you get the suite with the jacuzzi for a good price then this would be the only stay I would recommend. My husband and I booked our stay at Hotel Romanico palace via last minute.com. It was expensive but looked nice on the website so we thought we would treat ourselves. When we arrived we were shown up to a tiny box room overlooking an ugly internal courtyard which was noisy and dark. I was really upset with the room so we went straight back down to reception and asked to move. There were no road facing rooms available (which was probably a blessing as this hotel is on the corner of a very busy cross road with lots of road noise) so the only alternative was a junior suite. The receptionist told us this was the best room the hotel had to offer. Having seen the room we agreed to an upgrade fee of 80Euros per night ontop of our already high price. The good things about the suite - a very nice jacuzzi bath on a nice balcony. This totally made our stay as it was lovely to spend time out there and the views were very nice. Reasonably well decorated but still looks abit tired. Bad things - you are directly under the breakfast balcony and get woken up every morning at 8am by chairs being scraped across the balcony floor. The road noise is very loud, even at this heigh. The bathroom door doesnt shut and the shower has jets that look nice but if you use them they flood the bathroom. When I tried to tell reception about the things with the room that need fixing he wouldnt even listen to me...just saying 'that is the best room we have!' I would not recommend this hotel. It is a 15 minute walk from Trevi fountain and there are closer hotels within the traffic free zone that would be much nicer. They also will not let you bring any food or drinks into your room even though they do not serve dinner or lunch.

The hotel was really disappointing, nowhere near as grand as the website photos! The room was really small with no bath. When we were leaving for the airport the staff informed us that they had lost the key to the luggage room and we had to wait nearly an hour whilst they tried to break the door down. It was more like Fawlty Towers!

Just returned from an enjoyable stay at the Romanico Palace. Booked via Last Minute's Secret Hotels and admittedly was a little worried about what to expect at the hotel after reading some reviews. However, we found all the staff welcoming, helpful and polite, the room was very acceptable - perhaps we were lucky as it was a perfectly adequate size. Breakfast was great and the views from the terrace are fab. 10 mins to the Spanish Steps or 5 mins to nearest tube and lots of buses available. Very nice safe area and handy local Spa - get your bottled water there!
