Romanico Palace - Excellent Value, Excellent Location

My wife and I booked an upgraded room from the Romanico Palace, and were ecstatic with the amenities we received for the price. Our beautifully accommodated room included an expansive view of Rome from the sixth floor, a personal balcony, full bath, tile floors, and a fresco on the wall. The staff was extremely professional and courteous, and the hotel will arrange a private car to and from the hotel for a very reasonable price (in light of what a taxi from the nearest train station will run you). The hotel is located a few blocks from Via Vittoria Veneto, and is an easy ten to fifteen minute walk west to the Trevi Fountain or the Spanish Steps. The hotel restaurant and those on Via Veneto are quite expensive, but there are several eateries nearby that seem to cater to a more local crowd and are reasonably priced for excellent food. The main train terminal (Termini Station) is a ten minute walk south of the hotel. The neighborhood immediately around Romanico Palace is very pleasant and quiet, with many upscale residences and diplomatic properties nearby. As I stated, I can only speak to the quality of the hotels mid-tier rooms, but my wife and I were very impressed and would readily recommend this hotel to any traveler visiting Rome.

It was in a beautiful area, The rooftop area was spectacular, The room left something to be desired. In particular the shower in the bathroom flooded the bathroom because the closure was broken. There were no racks or hooks for wet towels. The hotel location was excellent and the staff helpful.

I booked online and stayed at this hotel for 6 nights. If I could go back in time I would have stayed somewhere else. The front desk staff (the "manager??") was so rude. We arrived and they told us they overbooked and we had to go to another hotel but; they would arrange for us to get there. When we objected they said, "ok, you can stay here then" So they checked us in and walked us over to the hotel next door. The Hotel Veneto. The next day we asked to be moved over to the Romanico Palace and the "manager" said that we did not need to move because it is basically the same hotel. Long story short, we ended up getting moved into the Romanico and the room was so bad. Stains on the walls, the bathroom was dirty. He must have given us that room because we argued about being put in a different hotel. The price was good but; honestly the bad hotel experience effected our holiday and our impression of Rome. I would rather pay more and stay in a hotel that values their customers. If you have not reserved yet I recommend you keep looking. Overbooking seems to be their "thing" and then bad customer service.

Reserved Romanico Palace, but were put in hotel next door, which shared same facilities but was different hotel around the corner. The rooms were much like on the Veneto website but had no charachter and in a 'boudoir' style. Our bath leaked during the night, flooding the bedroom and at 2pm, the official check in time, there was a queue of about 6 families waiting to check in, and we didnt even get to the room until about 2.40pm. The receptionist at Romanico palace was rude. I wouldnt recommend the hotel to anyone. Walking distance to Spanish steps and Trevi fountain but not a short walk.

The location is good. The rooms are very, very small and uncomfortable. the small shower in the bathroom has no shelf to put anything. The roof terrace is almost always closed. We will not stay there again.
