0My wife and I booked an upgraded room from the Romanico Palace, and were ecstatic with the amenities we received for the price. Our beautifully accommodated room included an expansive view of Rome from the sixth floor, a personal balcony, full bath, tile floors, and a fresco on the wall. The staff was extremely professional and courteous, and the hotel will arrange a private car to and from the hotel for a very reasonable price (in light of what a taxi from the nearest train station will run you).
The hotel is located a few blocks from Via Vittoria Veneto, and is an easy ten to fifteen minute walk west to the Trevi Fountain or the Spanish Steps. The hotel restaurant and those on Via Veneto are quite expensive, but there are several eateries nearby that seem to cater to a more local crowd and are reasonably priced for excellent food. The main train terminal (Termini Station) is a ten minute walk south of the hotel. The neighborhood immediately around Romanico Palace is very pleasant and quiet, with many upscale residences and diplomatic properties nearby.
As I stated, I can only speak to the quality of the hotels mid-tier rooms, but my wife and I were very impressed and would readily recommend this hotel to any traveler visiting Rome.
