Transfers from the airport - cabs cost 50-60 Euro Train approx 10 Euro into city centre and then get a taxi to the hotel. We were approached by a man at the train station entrance who agreed to transfer us for 20 Euros each straight to the hotel door. But we had to wait until he filled the bus with other passengers but as only just arriving didnt know what best to do. I would recommend getting the train - and then catching a cab to the hotel. This hotel was really surprising - welcoming lobby, and rooms were bright and clean, and really modern. Drinks and food quite pricey - but it is a really nice hotel, so understandable Location was ideal - as 2 women travelling on our own - I had read that some areas of Rome can be unsafe of an evening, this area was great. There are a few surrounding restaurants - I had read on advisor re one called Vito,s and we werent disappointed. Really good food for a reasonable price - there seem to be a "skewer of meat" that could be bought kind of like a kebab that was carved at your table - we werent brave enough to try it - but it looked and smelt great. A great little coffee bar (next to the Bank of Rome (cant remember its name) always good to stop for a coffee and pastries. Also found that if we bought soft drinks from here - much cheaper than the hotel. This hotel was really close to the Vatican - we did actually book onto a Vatican musem tour - which although pricey was well worth the spend. Price was approx ?40 and tour last over 3 hours - ending in the Sistine Chapel. Those passengers trying to visit the Vatican Museums on their own - the queues were so long - it must have been easily over 2 hours wait . Like most travellers to Rome - we made use of the Metro ticket - for 4Euro for 24hours - it gives you access to the Metro and the buses . The metro is really easy to use as its only 1 line going in both directions to all the attractions - nearest station from our hotel was at Popolo Piazza - which was approx 10minutes walk across the Tiber River. Bus 87 stopped really close to the Hotel at Piazza Cavour - and we managed to pick this up from the Colosseum. When visiting this attraction we went approx 3pm and as it closes at 5pm we were quite lucky with the queues. When flying home - we decided to use the Metro to the Termini station -and then catch the train to Fumicino. The train takes approx 30 minutes - and cost us 11Euros each - leave enough time as they seemed to only operate every half hour, and we had just missed one, although we were travelling on a sunday so maybe affected. Overall a great trip - and would definitely recommend this hotel, and stay there again

The hotel staff was great and very helpful with directions and restaurant recommendations. We were so thankful they let us check in at 8am after flying all night.

The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel is in walking distance of just about everything- just bring comfortable walking shoes!

modern oasis in beautiful Rome

We stayed for 3 nights in July 07, and chose the hotel because of its location and price. As it says in the website, it is a very modern hotel, with a nice lobby and beautiful, if a bit small, rooms.(We did not have a suite, just a standard double) The best thing about it is the area, as it is close enough to walk to most of the shopping and touristic areas of central Rome (Piazza Spagna, Via Condotti, Trevi and The Vatican) but in a peaceful and classy area, very close to lovely restaurants and bars catering for Italian people, and not some of the awful tourist traps you get near Via Venetto. Rome is amazing, but sometimes the crowds get too much and it felt nice to get out of the more touristy areas. The walk from the Vatican to the hotel late one night, walking by the river was absolutely beautiful....well worth the extra walking.
