One aspect of this hotel is that its staff is very friendly and tourist-oriented. Thanks to all the people that work in the reception office, our stay was pleasant and eventful.. Read review

We did everything by bus and train, which was completely accessible and near the hotel. It was so nice because the hotel's location was away from all the tourists - it was more "neighborhood" friendly - and if I were staying in Manhattan, I'd rather stay in the West Village than Times Square, which was a similar experience here. Giotto was located near better, more authentic restaurants (rather than the Hard Rock Rome), was in a quite neighborhood near a school, had a wonderful grocery store within walking distance and a nice, higher end gastronomia (for NYKERS a delicatessen) even closer. I didn't mind because, again, everything in NYC (apartments, hotel rooms, space on the subways) except buildings and population is probably smaller than most places due to space.. Read review

Very pleasant member of staff organised a taxi for us to travel the short distance to Giotto. Lovely hotel, clean and comfortable room, beautiful bathroom facilities, good breakfast, very helpful staff. Lovely area, but beware - if you're going to be there on a Sunday, buy extra metro tickets as very few tabachi open on a Sunday!. Read review

I advise any travellers to go to Battistini train station rather than Cornelia station ,as it is an easier walk and not continuously up hill and takes around 10-15 minutes walk. Upon arrival we were informed that there were no twin rooms available so for our first night we would stay in singles. However, we were advised by our travel operator that Hotel Giotto allocates rooms upon arrival so we were not surprised. The next day the man at reception advised that our luggage would be moved to a twin room that day which it was upon our return. The hotel is clean and tidy and they have a luggage room if your flight is not until later in the day. Hotel Giotto is an affordable and excellent base to explore Rome, if you don't mind using the local Metro-net to get into the centre everyday, but at 11 euros for a 3 day travel pass who does.. Not to comment the room, which was as small as it could be, and the shower, which also provided us with huge periods of COLD water during the shower.... Read entire review
The breakfast is fine and the staff were always cleaning used tables straight away and restocking the food. The reception staff try and be helpful, but do seem to have limited English. We did have a room that was disabled friendly, but it is the outside of the hotel in the main streets that is an issue...... Read entire review

Yes the rooms are small and the bathroom shower was a challenge to even the best contortionist but we only needed a room for a base as we were out every day. The bus service was cheap and regular, just down the road and the train service was excellent. The buffet style continental breakfast was adequate...... Read entire review
