Hotel Cortorillo was located close to the train station, very convenient. Took us a few minutes to find it due to Rome's unusual address numbering on streets. More complete directions (cross streets) would be helpful. Staff were very friendly and helpful, always someone there. Eleana did a great job with the coffee machine at breakfast. Food was mainly packaged pastries, melba toast etc but it was nice to get fruit and yogurt. Bathroom was very small but adequate. A shower curtain in shower to prevent the rest of the bathroom getting soaked would be nice. Room was small, wardrobe door was broken, the rest of the room was in good condition. There was an elevator up to the room which saved a lot of stair climbing. The hotel was walking distance to all the main tourist sites and the metro station. Italian hotels are not like North American hotels so if that is what you want then stay at an American chain hotel. It will cost you lots more and you won't really see Italy. This hotel is great if you want to experience Italy. Atmosphere was friendly and safe. We would stay here again and recommend it to friends.

Room was in principle clean though the bathroom had a terrible smell and the shower curtain had stains of mould. Rooms were very small but that seems to be common in Rome. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast is very simple (croissants and cheap stuff in a dark back room) - if you are on a budget, all you can eat is nice, otherwise you will be better off with a cafeteria and the bakeries nearby. Location is OK, Colosseum was about 15 minutes of walking away, Termini is not more than 2-3 minutes. In overall, it's a reasonable place to stay if all you need is a place to sleep - price/value was however not very satisfying during Eastern.

Needing a room only as a stop-over before departing from Fiumicino the following morning I didn't want to spend too much ... for this room I spent little, I expected little and I got little ... room for improvement.

It's a good place to stay for a few days in Roma. The breakfast was very nice! You can eat all you want! And a 10 to the employers, very good treat. Seriously, I don't know any problem with this place.
