Hotel Cortina was lovely. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The location was good. Three blocks from the Metro and walking distance (about 15-20 minutes) to most of the ancient sites. The individually controlled air conditioner was great, and the in-room mini bar had a little extra room to store some snacks. The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful. There is almost no lobby, so don't plan to hang out there. Also, there's no Internet access. But there is an Internet cafe around the corner, along with a grocery store.

My husband and I actually booked 2 double room originally but the hotel asked us to stay in one of their apartments on Via Napoli. We really loved the apartment. It was recently remodeld and the decor was very nice. The only complaint we have is the dish service for TV but it's not the hotel's fault. I can't thank Angelo and Florian enough for the superb service. You can't go wrong with Hotel Cortina.

Via Nacionale is under construction so it was a bit of an obstacle course to get to the hotel but other than that the location is good ...within walking distance to most sights.

We booked it on www.bookhotelsinrome.com at discounted rate. This hotel is hidden near the river in a quiet central location. We walked everywhere during out stay in Rome and although the main attractions are not on the hotel doorstep, they are close enough to walk to.
The hotel is small and clean and the reception staff are there if you need them but mostly just leave you to get on with it. They all speak perfect English.
Our room was spacious and clean with a good en-suite.

The breakfast was very continental and not that great!

Overall I would recommend it for a city break as it ticks all of the boxes and is a good base for exploring. It is a very good price for 3 star in Rome.
