The hotel billed itself as comfortable and convenient and it was both of those things. The staff were courteous and efficient and helpful with general queries. The breakfast was plentiful and good quality continental style fare. But the dining area was v small and people often had to wait till a table became free.
It was ideal for a city break. My only disappointment was in the external appearance of the location - rather a dark and bleak street. The entrance is rather forbidding on first sight, especially at night as was our experience. But in the morning we could see it was quite a 'good' area - government buildings and apartment blocks, with some small shops. The shops have shutters over them during the night so this added to the first rather grim impression. The hotel is on the 2nd floor of an old apartment building with entry phone the only means of access (but always promptly answered), large, empty entrance hall and old fashioned lift and bleak,
undecorated stairs. But once inside the hotel reception on the 2nd floor it is well furnished and comfortable and everything is fine.
Our bathroom in the double room on the corner was rather small and narrow - our two(adult) children's 2 singles both had more spacious bathrooms.
I would sugget the hotel get together with the other tenants and pay to make the entrance hall more attractive and welcoming. I caught sight of the entrance hall of the apartments opposite one day when the door was open, and it was attractively furnished, with long drapes tied back, etc, more what one would expect of a hotel.
There were several good restaurants in the immediate area which helped when we were footsore after a day's walking.
It is reasonably central - we got buses to further locations (cheap all day tickets) but the bus services were a bit few and far between and we had some long waits.
We were well satisfied with the accommodation for our purposes which was a long weekend citybreak - reas
